scarletmaiden: Challenge time:

Serious writer's block right now. I'm craving something to inspire me to write. So, since none of my 100 communities have yet put up a new challenge, i'm going to come back to this and hope that people still watch this (i've been without internet for almost 2 months, hence the lack of writing).

So this 2-week challenge (or until next Thursday) is:

ESCAPE

Go and let the plot-bunnies run free!

A Señorita, Escapism, and Angst

I am so sick of it all, she muttered to herself, her gaze through the dirty kitchen window settling upon her neighbor, a mid-twenties brunette watering azelias. She was scantily clad in a bikini top and cut-off jeans which settled low on the hip, so when she bent over... Emily closed her eyes. Sick of the burden. Sick of bearing this weight. He’s breaking me.

And he was. Every time he inhaled, a fraction of her dismal life ebbed away. The sheer stupidity of the words he uttered sliced into her soul, and spiked her nerves. Even the most benign passing thought of the man caused the pool of boiling hatred within her to swell, and one day soon, it would consume her entirely. She closed her eyes and wasn’t startled when visions of a drowning housewife appeared.

There was no escape. Too many strings tied her to the personal hell some call domestication. In desperate daydreams, she gazed out the window and imagined a sequence of events. Getting into the car. Going to the bank. Robbing it. Driving to Mexico (after all, the border was only three hours away).

She would finally be free of her strings, and achieve her goal – simplicity – along with the ocean breeze in her hair, a bottle of Cabo Wabo in her hand, and a Señorita under her arm.

scarletmaiden: New Weekly Challenge

Feeling sick, so i forgot to update last night.

Since i forgot to give chocolates to anyone, i'm henceforth deciding that HeCollapse ) is the winner.

This week's challenge is:
Sickness
(yes, it's probably because i'm sick right now, and everything else makes no sense)

No word limit
and instead of chocolates, you can now give knives to anyone (because it sounds funner; just imagine Merrik holding a bunch of knives...)

girl_obscured: Peaceful Endings.

A decadent smile crossed his face as he witnessed Lynn slip into something less comfortable, something he had sent to her. With awkward angling arms, she diligently tightened the menacing laces at her back with a grimace, cinching the lungs to half capacity. Those lacey frilled teeth of the corset bit into her pale flesh without mercy, and slight irritated blotches appeared around the edges, surfacing in protest; however, Frank didn't see them, perched, as he was, on a tree branch just outside the window.

Finished, the woman-child admired her new figure in an antique full-length mirror, stately standing on clawed oak feet in the darkest corner of her room. Breathing wasn't easy, but the curves of that waist and bust seemed to trivialize the lack of oxygen. She crossed the room, taking noble and graceful steps to her marbled vanity. Before sitting, she withdrew an orchid from a simple bouquet, and placed it behind her ear.

She opened a drawer, procuring stationary and ink, and began to scribe to him a letter, the letter that would explain everything. He smiled in amusement, anticipating the surprised look that would light his world when she answered the door and saw him there.

When she brought the gun to her head, he screamed. . . but the bullet effectively silenced his objection.

scarletmaiden: Ha, ha, the plot bunnies are working!!!

Well, here's the first offering for this week. Hopefully something to start everyone else's brains a-thinking.

It's everyone's favorite character back for another adventure (Featuring two loveable... well, knowable, guys) Yes, it's: _________Collapse )

scarletmaiden: *sheepishly looks around*

Well, in hopes that i might magically be able to evoke a plot bunny, i'm going to officially issue a challenge. This one is only going to last a week (because i've found that making it two weeks only serves for longer procrastination time).

Henceforth, the challenge for this week (aka until 12am Thursday) shall be:
Jay and Silent Bob

Hopefully everyone knows who these two are (if not, check out Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, or the Clerks cartoons from ABC). If not, leave a message and someone (or me) shall try to explain.

I'm not really looking for them to be the major part of the fic - a simple entrance and exit at a precarious time (or perhaps Silent Bob's famous weilding of the Jedi Mind Trick).

Fics are allowed to be any length; and you are allowed to vote for anyone you want (be they real or not, they still count in our heads).

Oh, and i changed the layout and text... Boredom tends to do that to me...
